Throughout minicamp and OTAs for the Washington Commanders, rookie first-round wide receiver Jahan Dotson and quarterback Carson Wentz seemed to develop a strong rapport.
Of course, the Commanders were without star wide receiver Terry McLaurin, who skipped voluntary workouts in the spring as he and the team worked on a new contract extension.
McLaurin signed his new contract earlier this month, and he and Dotson were among several Washington players who trained in California with Wentz. But no one had seen Wentz throw to McLaurin as Commanders.
That all changed Wednesday when Washington opened training camp.
While nothing is exciting about this casual rep from Wentz to McLaurin, the quarterback found McLaurin later on a big play.
Apparently, it was a spectacular effort from McLaurin, reminiscent of his fantastic catch against the Chargers in Week 1 of the 2021 season. In case you don’t remember that catch, check it out.
Washington fans are excited about the potential of a big-play offense once again, and the combination of Wentz and McLaurin could be an exciting one in 2022.
