Auburn’s wide receiver room is one of the most interesting rooms on the roster.
The Tigers lost Kobe Hudson and Demetris Robertson who were two of their top three receivers last season. This left them with just one proven player in Shedrick Jackson and several who have the tools to be good receivers but lack experience.
In response, they added two transfers in Koy Moore and Dazalin Worsham, signed three freshman wideouts, and hired Ike Hilliard from the NFL to lead the group.
These moves helped stabilize the position and give the Tigers several options entering the 2022 college football season as they look to identify their next group of playmakers at wide receiver.

X: Shedrick Jackson
Jackson was Auburn’s second-best receiver last season and with the departure of Hudson, he is the unquestioned leader of the group entering his fifth season. Expect him to take another step from last year’s breakout performance when he caught 40 passes for 527 yards and one touchdown.
H: Koy Moore or Ja’Varrius Johnson
Auburn needed more experience at wide receiver and went out and got Moore after he entered the portal following two seasons at LSU. He has great speed that lets him create after the catch and manufacture explosive plays. Johnson started a few games last season but has yet to break out, his familiarity with the offense could allow him to start early but Moore will push him.
Z: Malcolm Johnson Jr.
Malcolm Johnson Jr. caught just six passes last season but is the front runner to earn a starting spot. He is looking to turn the potential he has flashed into proven production.
