After the number of incredibly talented tight ends — Noah Fant, T.J. Hockenson, George Kittle, Dallas Clark — to graduate from Iowa and head to the NFL, it’s safe to say that the Hawkeyes can be identified as Tight End University in college football.
The same can be said for Alabama and offensive linemen, or Georgia and linebackers. But what is it that the Oregon Ducks do as well as anyone in the country? Is Oregon known as anything other than Nike-U?
According to a new article from ESPN, they are.
The Ducks are considered among the best “QB-U” schools in the nation, gathering a reputation for putting some of the best passers on the field. We can look for proof all the way back to the turn of the century with Joey Harrington, or we can look to more recent memory with guys like Dennis Dixon, Darron Thomas, Marcus Mariota, and Justin Herbert. ESPN took into account all players in the modern CFB era, which they pinpointed took place with the start of the BCS era in 1998.
