Heading into the 2022 season the Clemson Tigers staff has a decision to make when it comes to the quarterback. D.J. Uiagalelei and incoming freshman Cade Klubnik. All signs likely point to Uiagalelei maintaining the starter status at this point in time.
Last season Clemson had a disappointing season by their standards even with a 10-3 record. Not landing in the College Football Playoffs or even a New Years Six bowl game was a disappointment for the program. It was something that hasn’t happened since playing Oklahoma in the Russell Athletic Bowl in 2014.
One reason for the dropoff was the play of Uiagalelei, he put in a lot of work in the offseason in Texas. He should be improved from last season.
As the season approaches, Clemson Wire breaks down the junior quarterback’s situational stats. All statistics courtesy of Stats Perform.
