The college football season is just over a week away. Why not have a little fun and make bold predictions regarding Arkansas’ projected statistical leaders?
Arkansas is expected to have a better season than in recent years, as it appears that head coach Sam Pittman is steering the Razorbacks in a favorable direction towards competing with the SEC’s best programs.
The first way that Arkansas will succeed will be on offense. KJ Jefferson returns for his junior season and will have many talented targets to throw passes to. Expect Jefferson to be just as dynamic as last season, and to disperse his passes more evenly.
The defense will become stronger thanks to the return of Jalen Catalon. Catalon ended his season early due to a shoulder injury that he suffered against Ole Miss in week six. Catalon is healthy and is poised to make this his best season yet.
However, the strongest unit on defense will be the linebackers. Bumper Pool returns after leading the team in tackles last season with 125. Pool will also have help in Alabama transfer Drew Sanders. Sanders has high potential but did not get to show it while at Alabama due to a loaded room.
