Heading into the 2022 season, ClemsonWire will look at multiple players on the Clemson football roster.
Over the preseason, each profile will cover where the player is from, how recruiting websites rated them coming out of high school and what role they will play for head coach Dabo Swinney this season.
For this profile, we will take a closer look at offensive lineman Will Putnam.
Entering what will most likely be his fourth and final season for the Tigers, Putnam brings much needed veteran experience to this years offensive line, starting all 10 games that he appeared in last season along with 1,615 career snaps over the course of 33 games (22 starts) and three seasons.
Here’s a snapshot look at Will Putnam.

Depth Chart Overview
Putnam enters his senior season with the Tigers following a dominant showing in 2021, where he started all 10 games that he played in last season.
With Hunter Rayburn’s retirement from football and Mason Trotter being unavailable for most of the 2022 season due to unspecified reasons, Putnam comes into the fall as Clemson’s expected starter at center.
Behind Putnam, the Tigers have redshirt freshman Ryan Linthicum, who was listed as the best center in the nation in 2021 by Rivals.com and is the only true center on the Clemson roster.
