UNC football quarterback Drake Maye made quite the first impression in the Week 0 win over Floria A&M on Saturday night.
From the start Maye and the Tar Heels offense was efficient and they kept UNC in the game while the defense struggled. Maye tossed four first-half touchdowns in the game and added a program-record fifth in the second half to help propel UNC to the win.
While it’s only one game, Maye looked sharp and gives UNC fans some hope that they have their next signal-caller at the helm to replace Sam Howell. The quarterback finished the game 29 of 37 for 294 yards and five touchdowns, an impressive showing for his first career start.
