Twitter reacts to TJ Finley winning the QB job

In expected news, it was reported by ESPN’s Chris Low that Auburn head coach Bryan Harsin has named junior T.J. Finley the starting quarterback for the Tigers’ season opener against Mercer on Saturday.

Finley returns as Auburn’s starting quarterback, relieving Bo Nix after he suffered an ankle injury during the Mississippi State game on Nov. 13. In three games as a starter, Finley completed 53 passes for 552 yards and three touchdowns. Unfortunately, he did not record a win in any of those games.

Outside of starting the final three games of the season, Finley is best known for entering the game against Georgia State on September 25 to pass for 97 yards and to throw the game-winning touchdown to Shedrick Jackson with less than a minute remaining to push Auburn ahead, 27-24.

Following the announcement, Auburn fans shared their reviews on Twitter, which were indeed mixed. Here’s a look at the best reactions from the social media site.
