The Big 12 begins its 2022 season this week, with Oklahoma State, West Virginia, Kansas and TCU kicking off before Saturday.
Oklahoma State begins their season with a game against Central Michigan on Thursday. In their last meeting, current Dallas Cowboys backup Cooper Rush threw a game-winning Hail Mary attempt in a controversial win over the Big 12 power.
On the same day, West Virginia faces off against Pittsburgh in a rivalry nicknamed the “Backyard Brawl.”
Heading into the season, the reigning champion Baylor Bears are the conference title favorites. Oklahoma and Oklahoma State are the next most logical picks, while a number of other teams could emerge as contenders.
Weighing offseason coaching changes, additions and subtractions, let’s look at the current pecking order in the conference.
