ANN ARBOR, Mich. — It’s officially game week and Colorado State is on deck.
That means that the usual schedule (Monday through Wednesday press conferences) have returned, with head coach Jim Harbaugh speaking on Monday at noon. Naturally, given his revelation of how he’s planning to handle the quarterbacks and his overall detail of the depth chart on Saturday, Harbaugh got a lot of questions about the nature of those position battles, as well as the overall outlook of the team.
The press conference was preceded by outgoing softball coach Carol Hutchins speaking to the media, as well as the first media availability with new coach Bonnie Tholl, so Harbaugh opened up discussing that.

Opening statement
I would like to also congratulate Carol Hutchins on an amazing career, retirement. I think the winningest softball coach known in the entire world. It’s great that her legacy is going to continue under Bonnie and the team. It’s great to have another Michigan alum coaching a Michigan team. Can’t talk enough about Carol. Winningest coach in the history — 22 Big Ten championships, on and on. I know she’s going to be still around. She’s a great colleague and we love her — go blue!
Camp has been good. We’re excited to start the season. Camp’s over, it’s now game week. Really give a lot of credit to our players, the shape they came in, the way our coaches developed, strength coaches, assistant coaches. Very, very healthy roster, as well. Excited to let them have at it this week.
We’ve named the starting quarterback. Cade McNamara will start the first game, J.J. McCarthy will start the second. We’ve also posted the depth chart at the other positions, as well. We’re ready to roll.
