The 2022 season provides a fresh start for Steve Sarkisian and the Texas program. The Longhorns hope to leave 2021’s disappointments in the past with an improved year this fall.
Texas will have the look of a much different team in Saturday’s opener vs. UL Monroe. The Longhorns welcome many new faces to the roster via the transfer portal and high school recruiting ranks.
The Longhorns do return superstar running back Bijan Robinson and wide receiver Xavier Worthy back to lead the offense again this season. The dynamic duo established themselves as some of the best playmakers in the country a year ago.
The staff hopes the influx of talent, along with the returning studs can push Texas into the Big 12 Conference championship race.
Sarkisian feels good about the development of his team over the offseason and feels like the culture is at an “all-time high” in his Texas tenure.

QB Quinn Ewers

Former five-star quarterback Quinn Ewers is set to make his highly anticipated Texas debut on Saturday. Ewers transferred in from Ohio State over the offseason and was named the starter over Hudson Card in fall camp. Texas hopes Ewers can lead the Longhorns’ offense to new heights in 2022.
OT Kelvin Banks
The crown jewel of Texas’ 2022 offensive line recruiting class has looked the part since arriving on campus. Kelvin Banks is getting plenty of run as the first team left tackle in camp and is expected to take that role this season. Banks is a potential program-changing talent on the offensive line.
WR Savion Red
