Tuesday marked judgment day for roster hopefuls across all 32 NFL teams, as they had to cut their rosters down to 53 players. Teams had to trim their rosters from 85 players down to 80 on Aug. 23.
Multiple former stars for the Huskers on the gridiron saw their dreams come true, including some who were regarded as being borderline picks for their respective rosters. In 2021, 27 Huskers made Week 1 rosters and this year, the number dropped to 16 on active rosters. However, that number will rise when a few Nebraska players return from the injured reserve or physical unable to perform (PUP) list after the season starts.
Another handful of former Huskers were cut, but are expected to join their respective team’s practice squads when the signing period begins at 3 P.M. on Aug. 31.

Domann found a roster spot on the Indianapolis Colts, who signed him as an undrafted free agent.
MADE IT – CB Cam Taylor-Britt

Taylor-Britt will start the season on injured reserve for the Cincinnati Bengals.
MADE IT – LB Luke Gifford

Gifford will begin his fourth year on the Dallas Cowboys after playing in all 17 games last year.
