Sean Clifford heads to locker room

Hold on to your butts. Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford was seen jogging back to the locker room shortly after the start of the second half on Thursday night at Purdue. With Penn State up 21-10 at halftime, things were looking pretty good with Clifford accounting for all three Penn State touchdowns. But heading back to the locker room is a potentially ominous sign.

Freshman Drew Allar was seen warming up on the sideline as he was named the backup quarterback by head coach James Franklin earlier in the week.

Clifford was hit low on the left leg in the first half on a personal foul penalty by Purdue. Clifford remained in the game and finished the drive by being pushed forward for a three-yard rushing touchdown. Clifford ended the half with a  67-yard touchdown pass to tight end Brenton Strange.
