Oregon Ducks fail to score touchdown for first time since Nov. 2017

The Dan Lanning era is off to a ridiculously rough start after the Oregon Ducks got torched by the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday, falling 49-3 in the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff game.

It is the first time the Ducks failed to score a touchdown in a game since November 4, 2017 against the Washington Huskies.

Oregon’s offense had some decent drives, going 7-15 on third down, 2-3 on fourth down, and totaling over 300 yards in the contest.

However, a pair of costly interceptions from quarterback Bo Nix and a completely disastrous performance from the defense allowed Georgia to march down the field effortlessly basically every single time they had the ball.

The Bulldogs went 9-10 on third down, and quarterback Stetson Bennett completed 25-31 passes for 368 yards and two touchdowns before exiting early and giving way to backup Carson Beck, who went 5-6 with a touchdown himself.

While Oregon’s failure to score a touchdown isn’t entirely on Nix and the offense, it is clear they have a lot of work to do on both ends of the field if they want to challenge Utah and USC for a Pac-12 championship this season.
