Everything the players said after Saturday’s win

Following Nebraska’s 38-17 win over North Dakota on Saturday, multiple players spoke with the media. We’ve already covered head coach Scott Frost’s postgame press conference, and now we’ll hear from quarterback Casey Thompson, running back Anthony Grant, and Edge rusher Garrett Nelson all media the media following Nebraska’s first win of the season.

Casey Thompson was great, as always, in this setting. He has a refreshing honesty about his play and preparations heading into gameday. Anthony Grant will have a more prominent role with the press by being the breakout star of the group. And captain Garrett Nelson is one of the leaders of this team, and as a leader, it’s clear he realizes there is room for improvement.

Thompson: On his physical health after two weeks

“I feel good physically, just sore. I was struggling actually a little bit this week with a cold or some type of sickness. I woke up on game day and it kind of all went away. You know, when the game starts you feel fine, so I felt good during the game, but like I said I’m definitely sore right after.”

Nelson: On his first sack

“They always feel good. That’s my job, so when I finally hunt down the quarterback and get the ball, it’s kind of the epitome of what we are supposed to do at the position.” 

Grant: On the long touchdown run
