Cowboys, Bucs await word on WRs; Turpin on No. 9; Micah on Brady

It’s starting to get real as the Cowboys’ season opener approaches. So was the scare in Cowboys Nation when Dak Prescott showed up on the Thursday injury report with an ankle issue. While it seems the quarterback will be just fine once he changes his shoes, word is still out on key pass-catchers for both Dallas and Tampa Bay. Godwin doesn’t have a firm answer on whether he’ll suit up versus Dallas after a torn ACL and MCL last year in Week 15. “The competitor in me wants to go as soon as I can,” he said. “But just understanding that I wasn’t there for the end of the season last year, that stuff really gets to me. I’ve got to be as smart as I can.”

Prescott left Thursday’s practice early with soreness in his surgically-repaired ankle due to, he says, a new pair of cleats worn for the first time. He promises he’s fine and will switch back to his former model of footwear for Sunday. Jourdan Lewis and Michael Gallup were officially listed as limited.
