Larry Fedora Steps Down as Head Coach of New Orleans Breakers

USFL Officially Names Birmingham, AL as 2022 Central Hub

Earlier today the USFL Comms team broke the news that New Orleans Breakers head coach Larry Fedora would be stepping down from his position.

Coach Fedora said “The USFL is a great professional league, and it was an awesome experience to be part of the history-making inagural season.” There is no mention of why Fedora is stepping away, but it would seem likely that another position may be in the works.

We will miss Coach Fedora and we are grateful for his enormous contributions to help set up the New Orleans Breakers and the entire USFL for long-term success,” said Daryl Johnston (EVP Football Operations)

The positive to come out of this is that the remaining head coaches will be returning to the USFL next season.

It wasn’t too long after that the official USFL social media accounts thanked Coach Fedora for his time in the league.

This is a big hit for Breakers fans. Coach Fedora lead the franchise to a 6-4 record, securing the #2 spot in the southern division and a spot in the USFL Playoffs.

They ultimately fell to the Birmingham Stallions, which would go on to defeat the Philadelphia Stars for the USFL Championship the following week.
