The Oregon Ducks were dealt a tough blow on Wednesday night. The No. 1 player in the state of Oregon’s 2024 class announced his commitment to the USC Trojans.
4-star tight end Joey Olsen, a player from Lakeridge High School in Lake Oswego, has been heavily recruited by the Ducks, and he was even favored to pick the Ducks. According to On3’s prediction machine, Oregon held a 48.6% chance to land Olsen. Instead, it was USC who got him, despite holding a 19.1% chance to land him, behind Oregon State (22.3%).
After the emphasis that Dan Lanning placed on “keeping recruits home” and making sure that the best players in the state of Oregon play at Oregon, this is a tough loss for the Ducks.
