ALBANY, N.Y. – For the second week in a row, quarterback Reese Poffenbarger has been named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Rookie of the Week.
 

Poffenbarger helped lead the Great Danes to the team’s first win of the 2022 campaign. The rookie signal caller completed 18 of 26 pass attempts for 257 yards. It was the third consecutive game in which he surpassed the 250-yard mark, having thrown for 264 yards against UNH and a program single-game record 412 yards against Fordham. In addition, he tossed two touchdown passes, both to tight end Thomas Greaney, in the third quarter. It was the second-consecutive week the team has posted 45 points.
 
The team enters week five, a bye week, with an overall record of 1-3. The Great Danes return to action on Oct. 8 with a trip to new CAA member Monmouth.
