FRIDAY REPORT
After missing two days of practice, defensive end J.J. Watt (calf/illness) was back on the field on Friday and coach Kliff Kingsbury was optimistic the veteran defensive end will play against the Panthers.
“He was feeling better today so hopefully he can go on Sunday,” Kingsbury said.
Wide receiver Rondale Moore (hamstring) is “moving around better,” Kingsbury said, but the Cardinals want Moore to get some work in pre-game before making a final call. Moore said Thursday he expected to play.
“I just want to make sure,” Kingsbury said. “It’s a really good defense and I want to make sure he’s at his best if he’s out there.”
Wide receiver Hollywood Brown popped back up on the report Friday as limited with a foot issue.
Wide receiver A.J. Green (knee), who missed practice all week, was ruled out, as was linebacker Ezekiel Turner (ankle). The Cardinals already knew defensive tackle Rashard Lawrence (hand-surgery) was going to miss the game. Kingsbury also said he thought guard Justin Pugh (elbow) would be available.
For the Panthers, coach Matt Rhule told Carolina reporters he was “very hopeful” running back Christian McCaffery — officially questionable with a thigh injury — will play against the Cardinals.
