Giants off to best start since 2011

*The Giants completed nine passes, their lowest total since they had four completions at Chicago on Jan. 2, 2022, and their fewest in a victory since they had nine at the Jets on Dec. 24, 2011. Of course, one of the completions was a short pass that Victor Cruz turned into a 99-yard touchdown.

*The Giants had no offensive turnovers. Their only turnover was on Richie James’ lost fumble on a punt return.

*Quarterbacks Jones and Tyrod Taylor were sacked just once, the lowest total allowed by the Giants since Dec. 19, 2021, vs. Dallas (one).

*The Giants’ defense recorded six sacks of Chicago quarterback Justin Fields, their highest total since they had six against the Panthers on Oct. 24, 2021.

*The Bears rushed for 146 yards, the third consecutive opponent with at least that many yards on the ground. Carolina ran for 146 yards and Dallas had 176 yards on Monday night.

*Saquon Barkley led the Giants’ ground assault with 146 yards on 31 carries, a 4.7-yard average. It was his second-highest total of the season, surpassed by the 164 rushing yards he had in the season-opening victory at Tennessee.

*The 31 carries are Barkley’s career high. His previous high was 27 (for 142 yards) vs. Tampa Bay on Nov. 18, 2018.

*Barkley’s 146 yards was his fourth-highest career total. He ran for 189 yards at Washington on Dec. 22, 2019, 170 at Washington on Dec. 9, 2018, and the 164 vs. the Titans on Kickoff Weekend.

*The 100-yard game was the 14th of Barkley’s career. That broke a tie with Brandon Jacobs and gave Barkley the fourth-highest total in franchise history, behind Tiki Barber (38), Joe Morris (19) and Rodney Hampton (17).

*Jones completed eight of 13 passes for 71 yards with neither a touchdown nor an interception. He also had six rushing attempts for 68 yards and two touchdowns.

*On both of his touchdowns, Jones faked a handoff to Barkley – who moved to the right with most of the offense – before running up the left side for the score. Jones’ 21-yard touchdown run his first since a six-yarder at Washington on Sept. 16, 2021. It was Jones’ second-longest touchdown run; he scored on a 34-yarder vs. Philadelphia on Nov. 15, 2020.

*Jones also scored the Giants’ second touchdown on an eight-yard run. He now has seven career rushing touchdowns. It was the second time Jones has rushed for two touchdowns in a game. In his first career start at Tampa Bay on Sept. 22, 2019, Jones had a pair of seven-yard scores, including the game-winner with 1:16 remaining.

*Jones was sacked just…
