Initial Cowboys-Eagles practice report reveals plenty of injuries

The Dallas Cowboys returned to the practice field on Wednesday, readying themselves for the NFL’s first major showdown of 2022. When schedules are released, there are always certain early-season matchups that get circled because of anticipated greatness, but it actually takes a while to see who the best teams are. After five weeks, it’s clear that group includes the Philadelphia Eagles and the Cowboys, who just so happen to meet on Sunday Night Football.

There are, of course, stories galore, but on Wednesday the focus is on who is still nicked up and who is on the mend as both teams have injury issues they hope will clear by game time. The highest profile injury of course is Dallas QB Dak Prescott, who hasn’t played since Week 1. His thumb injury healing after surgery, Prescott was involved in portions of the routine on Wednesday, but officially Did Not Participate in what would be considered the on-field portion of practice.

Prescott isn’t the only key player on the practice report though, as LB Micah Parsons, DE DeMarcus Lawrence and OL Jason Peters were also included. Parsons didn’t work, but is expected to play Sunday. On the opposite sideline, one of the best offensive lines in football has injury concerns at three of the five starting spots.
