It was as strong of a performance as we’ve seen from the Oklahoma Sooners offense in some time. The Sooners extended their winning streak over the Kansas Jayhawks to 18.
As bad as things have been, they at least beat Kansas. So that’s something.
Oklahoma got an incredible performance from Dillon Gabriel, who was locked in from the first snap, helping the Oklahoma Sooners drive straight down the field for the opening score. Their first opening-drive touchdown since week one vs. UTEP.
And the offense didn’t stop there. They scored 35 in the first half followed up and took a two-touchdown lead into the break. It could have been more had the Sooners not got stopped at the goalline twice to close the half.
All in all, it was a strong performance from an offense that looked inconsistent against TCU and, for the most part, non-existent against Texas. It came back to life against the Kansas Jayhawks, racking up over 700 yards of total offense. Gabriel threw for just over 400, and Eric Gray ran for 176 to lead a Sooners rushing attack that 300 yards before final-minute kneel-downs.
It was a tremendous homecoming. Let’s see what social media had to say about the Sooners’ performance.
