5 stats to know for Week 7

The Green Bay Packers [3-3] face the Washington Commanders [2-4] on Sunday from FedEx Field. It’s a battle of struggling offensive teams as Green Bay has lost two games in a row, while the Commanders had lost four in a row before last week’s 12-7 win over the Chicago Bears.

It’s been a difficult year for Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers — by his standards. Washington is already on its second quarterback of the season as Carson Wentz will miss 4-6 weeks with a fractured finger, opening the door for Taylor Heinicke to return to the starting lineup.

Here are five stats to know ahead of the Week 7 battle between the Packers and Commanders.

According to Pro Football Focus, the Packers rank No. 32 — dead last — in special teams. PFF gives the Packers a 45.3 grade for special teams through six weeks.

Montez Sweat was the NFL’s third-ranked defender in Week 6, per PFF, with a 92.5 overall grade. In the last two games, Sweat has 12 tackles, eight quarterback hits and four sacks.

This is surprising. And it tells you that Rodgers is working with an inexperienced group of wide receivers. Some of the other QBs on this list are either young, struggling, or typically conservative with the football.

The Packers have forced four turnovers this season and the Commanders are right behind — last in the NFL — with only three forced turnovers. Both teams also sit at the bottom in turnover margin. Green Bay is -4 in turnover margin and Washington is -5.
