USC needs its offensive line to be healthy and whole for UCLA

We talked to Ducks Wire about the state of play in the Pac-12 at the midway point of the season. We were able to tell Ducks Wire just how good Oregon looks when evaluated directly, but we also noted a complicating plot point when evaluating USC and then considering how the Trojans look compared to both Oregon and UCLA:

In terms of the eye test, Oregon looks better than USC, as does UCLA, but that is partly a product of offensive line health.

USC’s offensive line has not been healthy the past three weeks. USC gets a week off this week on Oct. 22.

The Trojans really need to get their big guns back (Courtland Ford in particular) for UCLA and Notre Dame.

They weren’t in a great spot in terms of health heading into Salt Lake City for the Utah showdown. They are very fortunate the injuries to Jordan Addison and Eric Gentry were slight rather than being severe. That’s a bullet dodged.
