Five Auburn players that need to see the field more

Throughout the season, there has been plenty of talk about players that have seen the field. Now, it is time to talk about those that haven’t.

As Auburn enters the final stages of its bye week, head coach Bryan Harsin and his staff need to find new ways to help their team succeed. While it will be a tall task for Auburn to win all five of their remaining games, it is possible to finish the season on a high note by becoming bowl eligible.

One way to do that is to give several players a chance to prove their worth.

Though the wins have not come as often as desired, Auburn has plenty of talent on the sidelines. From players that could be used in special packages, to those who could step up in the place of injured players, there are several Tigers that could give Auburn a fair shot to win.

By dissecting season stats, as well as deep analytics from Pro Football Focus, here are the five players that we feel need to see the field more for the Auburn Tigers.

Dylan Brooks

The Montgomery Advertiser

Dylan Brooks was a highly-touted high school recruit. He was rated as a four-star EDGE rusher from nearby Handley High School and was the No. 4 prospect from the state of Alabama from the 2021 class.

So far on the season, Brooks has played a total of 58 snaps. With the loss of Eku Leota for the season after suffering an injury during the LSU game, Brooks is a candidate to step up and help with quarterback pressures.

Eugene Asante

Eugene Asante has been rather quiet since arriving on campus. The North Carolina transfer has appeared in four games this season, playing a total of five snaps.

Asante made 62 total stops during his three seasons as a Tar Heel, and was seen as a potential replacement for Zakoby McClain at linebacker, opposite Owen Pappoe this season.

The lack of participation from Asante has been noticeable. We hope to see more from him after the bye week.
