Why Clemson should a win against Syracuse

Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers are home this Saturday as they face Dino Babers and the Syracuse Orange on October 22nd in Death Valley at noon in Clemson.

The No.5 Tigers are coming off a solid win 34-28 over Florida State where Clemson dominated most of the game but took their foot of the gas in the fourth quarter allowing Florida State to make things closer than they should have been. The team will not be able to afford to take their foot of the gas against No.14 Syracuse this Saturday if they want to keep their undefeated run alive.

Recent history has seen Syracuse cause the Tigers some problems with this season’s Orange team being the best we’ve seen in years making things even more interesting. It is another significant opportunity for this 2022 Clemson team to make a statement.

Clemson’s defense has not been the group we expected going into this season, though their expectations are tough to live up to. As the offense has begun to blossom, the defense has lagged behind a little, which practically no one would have expected heading into this season. A week after getting thrashed on the ground for the first time all season by a mediocre running attack out of Florida State, Clemson’s defense will look to bounce back and make a statement this week against one of the best running backs in college football, Sean Tucker. Expect this Clemson defense to make the adjustments and shut down the run like they were all season prior.
