Giants ‘keep finding ways to win’

Giants 'keep finding ways to win'

The Giants traveled to Jacksonville and took care of business against the Jaguars, emerging with a 23-17 victory in Week 7.

The win moved the Giants to 6-1, their best record through seven games since 2008 when they started 11-1.

Saquon Barkley (110 rushing yards) and Daniel Jones (107 yards) became the first pair of Giants teammates to top 100 rushing yards in the same game since Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw did it in Minnesota on Dec. 13, 2010. Jones came up clutch when the Giants needed him most, as he registered his fifth game-winning drive and his fourth fourth-quarter comeback of the season.

Experts across the NFL world weighed in on the Giants’ win over the Jaguars and their incredible start to the year.

Here are expert takeaways.

Breech awarded the Giants an A for their performance against the Jaguars

“The Giants got another game where they didn’t beat themselves. New York had no turnovers and didn’t put the ball on the ground as the Giants used the second half to wear down the Jacksonville defense for another come-from-behind victory. Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley each ran for 100 yards — including 122 combined in the fourth quarter — as the Giants scored 10 points in the final frame to take a 23-17 lead and hold on for the win. New York had a scare in the final seconds, but Fabian Moreau stopped Christian Kirk short of the end zone on the final play to make sure the Giants preserved the win. The Giants don’t turn the ball over, they wear teams down and they make the tackles they need to. They’re fundamentally sound and well coached, which is why they’re 6-1.” — Breech

Saquon Barkley becomes a great closer

“Entering Sunday, Barkley had done his most damage as a runner in the second and third quarters. But in this game, when the Giants trailed 17-13 and needed an offensive spark, Barkley delivered. Through the first three quarter, he ran 14 times for 38 yards, as the Jaguars ganged up on him. But in the fourth quarter, Barkley came alive with 10 carries for 72 yards, helping the team hang on despite a late rush from the Jaguars. He also added four catches in the game for 25 yards. Barkley was guilty of not staying in bounds late in the game, which helped open the door for Jacksonville to have a shot to win it. But when the Giants absolutely needed yards late, they called on Jones and Barkley to carry the ball to freedom and a shocking 6-1 record.” — Edholm
