#ProDeacs: Week Seven Recap - Wake Forest University Athletics

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Week seven of the 2022 NFL season saw a couple of former Wake Forest offensive linemen impress coaches and fans alike with their production, a Demon Deacon touchdown and four teams with #ProDeacs on the roster pick up victories.

Beef Boy Update

During his first-career start, Zach Tom of the Green Bay Packers allowed zero pressures on 35 pass-blocking snaps at left tackle. The 2022 fourth-round draft pick played every offensive snap at left tackle, and was one of the bright spots for the Packers in the 23-21 loss to the Washington Commanders.

Phil Haynes also had a stellar performance on the offensive line without allowing a single pressure this week for the Seattle Seahawks. He finished the game with a 80.6 rating, which ranked second on the team offensively. In addition to protecting Geno Smith in the pocket, he helped open up holes for the Seattle running backs as they rushed for 214 yards for an average of 6.3 yards per attempt.

Deacon Touchdown

Greg Dortch helped the Cardinals cap off an 85-yard drive with a five-yard touchdown reception at the end of the third quarter en route to a 42-34 win over the New Orleans Saints. The Cardinals are now 2-0 in games in which Dortch scores a touchdown and 1-4 when he does not.
