LSU-Alabama battle has plenty of 2023 draft prospects for Cowboys

LSU-Alabama battle has plenty of 2023 draft prospects for Cowboys

This is a matchup of two top-10 teams who have such a strong history, them being the two top teams is a fall from grace. SEC heavyweights Alabama and LSU square off in Week 10 of the CFB schedule on Saturday at 6 pm CT, and although they have performed well, they’ve been caught by other schools looking to build their own dynasties.

LSU has struggled to find their feet since the loss of their elite 2019 roster while Alabama, winners of six of the last 12 championship games, have looked a step behind their past selves. With other schools possessing a large uptick in talent, these two powerhouses have had to step up their game.

This does not mean either school lacks talent however. Both LSU and Alabama boast a plethora of players who will undoubtedly hear their name called in the 2023 NFL draft and beyond. Here are some players from both squads who could help the Dallas Cowboys.

Gibbs has been a staple in a long line of successful Alabama running backs. As only a junior he has plenty of experience under his belt at one of the top RB factories in the nation.

With very few holes in his game, Gibbs is a true three-down back who can make his impact in both short yardage situations and on passing downs. He possesses good size with athleticism to boot. If Dallas looks to move on from both Tony Pollard and Ezekiel Elliott this offseason Gibbs is a great option to be a lead back at the NFL level.

Similar to Gibbs, Boutte comes from a school that prints Pro Bowlers at their respective positions. He was an impact freshman and was off to an insane pace in 2021 before injury struck but has returned this year with a solid campaign thus far.

Boutte is a fantastic athlete but is quite lean in build. This leads to some deficiencies when it comes to the physical aspects of the game such as contested catches or in traffic. He is however, extremely quick which allows for some nasty breaks on his routes and shiftiness with the ball in his hand. Boutte would be a nice complimentary piece to CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup who brings a slightly different presence to the Dallas offense.
