Following collapse vs Jaguars Damian Lillard says he wouldn’t blame Raiders stars if they left

Losing 24-0 to the Saints last week seemed like a low point for the Raiders. And it probably was. But they didn’t exactly bounce back this week. What the did was go out and have another massive collapse in Jacksonville.

It seemed like they might be turning things around when they jumped out to a 17-0 lead in the game. Then everything fell apart and they ended up losing the game 27-20.

Mind you, they had this collapse against the 2-6 Jaguars. The Raiders came in at 2-5, only a half game ahead of the Jags. So, neither could really lay claim to much of anything.

The problem is, a lot more was expected from the Raiders. With stars who signed big deals this offseason such as Davante Adams, Maxx Crosby, and Darren Waller.

After another embarrassing loss, Damian Lillard sounded off on his favorite team. The Oakland native and long time Raiders fan said he wouldn’t blame Adams, Crosby, and Waller if they wanted out after this season.

Crosby is the lone true bright spot on this Raiders defense. Adams had nine catches on nine targets for 146 yards and two touchdowns in the first half against the Jags. Then he had one catch for zero yards in the second half. And Waller hasn’t played a full game since week four with a hamstring issue.

The three of them signing new long term deals was proof the Raiders were not rebuilding, but were reloading.

Unfortunately this team isn’t showing any signs they are close to turning any corners. They actually appear to be getting worse. Which would figure to signal an actual rebuild if they can’t turn it around quick.

So, it’s not hard to understand Lillard’s stance on this.
