In most cases, the Heisman Trophy is a quarterback award. The chances of repeating for Alabama quarterback Bryce Young are looking awfully slim after the Crimson Tide lost to LSU in Week 10. Bad games for Ohio State’s CJ Stroud and Tennessee’s Hendon Hooker dropped them in the rankings while Georgia’s Stetson Bennett enjoyed a major rise this week.
But let’s not forget about Michigan running back Blake Corum, who has been on an absolute tear this season. He’s looking to become the first running back to win the award since Derrick Henry in 2015.
I included plenty of guys you’ve maybe never heard of who play for smaller programs but are putting up crazy stats. My new favorite is Old Dominion linebacker Jason Henderson, who is averaging 15.6 tackles per game and leads the Football Bowl Subdivision by 33 with 141 tackles this season.
