Texas A&M has finally reached rock bottom, the ship has finally sunk, etc, etc, etc. In essence, throw out the cliches, it’s bad people. Sitting at 3-7 and 1-6 in the SEC after losing their sixth game in a row last Saturday to the Auburn Tigers by a painful score of 13-10, the Aggies will now face one of the worst team’s in college football this season, the 1-9 UMass Minutemen.
On Monday, head coach Jimbo Fisher yet again spoke to the media a couple of days after the loss to discuss the team’s upcoming matchup, the state of the program, and the injury report heading into this weekend’s game. On the injury front, star running back Devon Achane missed his first game of the season on Saturday, as the offense unsurprisingly stalled time and time again, leaving young quarterback Conner Weigman alone on an island for four straight quarters.
Let me be clear, Fisher was extremely cryptic while discussing the injury report this afternoon, saying “They’ll all be day to day” with his clearest statement regarding Devon Achane’s status being that he “expects” Achane to return sometime before the end of the season with two games remaining.
On the non-injury front, wide receiver Moose Muhammad III, who was bizarrely benched due to a game attire controversy (wearing the wrong game day sleeves) will be available this weekend against UMass, according to Fisher. Lastly, the four suspended players including Chris Marshall, Denver Harris, PJ Williams, and Anthony Lucas will remain inactive going into this weekend.
