Will Rogers Named Semifinalist For Davey O’Brien Award

Rogers ranks first in the SEC in passing yards (3,173) and passing touchdowns (27)




STARKVILLE – For the second straight season, Mississippi State junior quarterback Will Rogers has been named a semifinalist for the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award, it was announced by the organization on Tuesday (Nov. 15).
 
Along with Rogers, other semifinalists include: Stetson Bennett (Georgia), Jayden Daniels (LSU), Max Duggan (TCU), Frank Harris (UTSA), Sam Hartman (Wake Forest), Hendon Hooker (Tennessee), Drake Maye (North Carolina), Grayson McCall (Coastal Carolina), J.J. McCarthy (Michigan), Tanner Mordecai (SMU), Bo Nix (Oregon), Michael Penix Jr. (Washington), Austin Reed (WKU), Cameron Rising (Utah), Kurtis Rourke (Ohio), C.J. Stroud (Ohio State), Dorian Thompson-Robinson (UCLA), Jordan Travis (Florida State), Caleb Williams (USC) and Bryce Young (Alabama).
 
Rogers recently broke a pair of Dak Prescott’s MSU career records for passing touchdowns and passing yards, while he set a new SEC career record for career completions earlier this season.
 
Through 10 games, Rogers leads the nation in completions per game (32.9), while he ranks first in the SEC in passing yards (3,173) and passing touchdowns (27). Rogers enters week 12 averaging 317.3 passing yards per game and is 329-of-490 passing on the season.
