TUCSON, Ariz. – Washington State posted a 31-20 win at Arizona Saturday afternoon. Check out the postgame notes and highlights from the win.

TEAM NOTES

•      WSU picked off four passes, the most since recording four INT in last year’s Apple Cup

 

PLAYER NOTES

•      Quinn McCarthy (LG) and Cooper Mathers (TE) each made their first career starts

•      Grant Stephens started at RG and Christian Hilborn made his first career start at LT, started previous 10 games at LG

•      Cameron Ward threw his 21st touchdown pass of the season, rushed for season-high 59 yards

•      Ward completed 25 passes to push his season completion total to 265, ninth-most in WSU single-season history

•      Ward rushed for a season-high 59 yards including a 17-yard touchdown, the most rushing yards by a Coug quarterback since Jeff Tuel rushed for 79 yards in the win at Oregon State in 2010

•      Ward’s 17-yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter was his fourth rushing touchdown of the season and seventh of his career, the 17-yard run matched a season-long

•      Nakia Watson caught his third touchdown pass of the season

•      Watson recorded his seventh rushing touchdown of the season, 10th total touchdown

•      Renard Bell started, caught seven passes for 33 yards

•      Cooper Mathers recorded his first career reception early in the second quarter

•      Derrick Langford Jr. recorded his first interception of the season, third of his career

•      Langford Jr. returned the INT 35 yards for a touchdown, his first career pick-6, WSU’s second pick-6 of the season (Mauigoa, 95 yards, Oregon)

•      Daiyan Henley made seven tackles to push his season total to a career-high 102

•      Quinn Roff recorded sack No. 3.5 of the season, seventh of his career

•      Sam Lockett III recorded his second and third career interceptions, all this season

•      Lockett III is the first Coug with two interceptions in a game since Armani Marsh in last year’s Apple Cup

•      Armani Marsh recorded his first interception of the season, fourth of his career

•      Lincoln Victor had a season-long 36-yard kickoff return late in the second quarter
