RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire suffers ankle injury

The turf at SoFi Stadium seems to have claimed its first victim.

Kansas City Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire got to work early in the Week 11 game against the Los Angeles Chargers on “Sunday Night Football.” He had two carries for nine yards. On the second carry, he got up limping to the sideline afterward.

He was spotted getting worked on by the training staff on the table and the team quickly ruled him as questionable to return to the game with an ankle injury. He was also later shown on the broadcast limping heavily into the tunnel for imaging on his injured ankle.

The Chiefs typically keep three running backs and a fullback active. If Edwards-Helaire is unable to return to the game, the team will have to rely on Isiah Pacheco, Jerick McKinnon and Michael Burton for the remainder of the game. Ronald Jones was among those made inactive for the game.
