It was another wild weekend of college football and that played a role in the latest Heisman Trophy Poll from the College Wire editorial team. One of the early favorites had a setback as Hendon Hooker suffered a torn ACL in a blowout loss to South Carolina.
USC Trojans quarterback Caleb Williams was able to take advantage in the shootout against UCLA on Saturday. Bo Nix played injured in the game for Oregon as they looked to get one step closer to clinching a spot in the Pac-12 title game with USC. While Drake Maye’s performance was still up to par, his defense might have cost him a shot at winning the trophy this year.
Each editor picked their top three choices with the top candidate receiving five points, the second choice receiving three points, and the final choice receiving one point.
We break down how each of our top five candidates fared in the poll.
