Former Bills LB London Fletcher named semifinalist for 2023 Pro Football Hall of Fame Class

Former Buffalo Bills linebacker London Fletcher is one of 28 semifinalists for the 2023 Pro Football Hall of Fame Class, the NFL announced Tuesday afternoon.

Fletcher spent 16 seasons (1998-2013) as an NFL linebacker for three different franchises. He entered the league as an undrafted free agent and was signed by the St. Louis Rams to a one-year, $158,000 contract. In 1999 with St. Louis, Fletcher started at linebacker in Super Bowl XXXIV and recorded 11 total tackles as the Rams beat the Titans 23-16.

Fletcher went on to sign a five-year, $17.12 million contract with the Bills in 2002 and included a signing bonus of $4 million. With the Bills, Fletcher was one of the most productive linebackers in the NFL, starting all 16 games in the five seasons he played in Buffalo (2002-2006).

Fletcher recorded 730 total tackles as a Bill, as well as 14.5 sacks and 5 interceptions. He was named a 2007 Pro Bowl alternate in his final season as a Bill.

In the 2007 offseason, Fletcher went on to sign a five-year, $25 million contract with Washington where he finished out his career. In Washington, he made four Pro Bowls (2009-2012) and two Second Team All Pro selections.

Fletcher finished his career with 2,039 tackles, 39 sacks and 23 interceptions.

The 28 Semifinalists will be reduced again — to 15 Finalists — before the final voting process for the Class of 2023.
