USC Football Moves Up To No. 6 In Fourth College Football Playoff Rankings

Football | November 22, 2022

LOS ANGELES — USC moved up one spot to No. 6 in the fourth set of the 2022 College Football Playoff Selection Committee Rankings on Tuesday.

It is the Trojans’ highest mark since the College Football Rankings were created in 2014. USC was ranked seventh in last week’s rankings.

College Football Playoff Rankings will be released every Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. PT on ESPN until Selection Day on Dec. 6.

Lincoln Riley, who previously led Oklahoma to three College Football Playoff appearances in seven seasons, is one win away from tying the most victories in a debut season by a USC head coach, which was 11 by Howard Jones in 1925 and John Robinson in 1976.

Leading Heisman candidate QB Caleb Williams continues to impress the nation with his dazzling performances. Through 11 games, Williams has 33 TDs and 3 INTs. He is 250-for-385 (.649) for 3,480 yards. He has also rushed for 316 yards on 88 carries with 7 TDs.

The Trojans conclude the 2022 regular season against intersectional foe No. 15 Notre Dame this Saturday. USC has clinched a berth to the Pac-12 Football Championship Game in Las Vegas on Dec. 4 against a conference opponent to be determined.
