Zach Wilson will not start Week 12 vs. Bears

Dan Orlovsky has message for Zach Wilson: ‘Grow the fudge up’

Zach Wilson has been benched. Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Jets held a team meeting Wednesday and players were informed that Wilson will not start Sunday against the Chicago Bears.

The possibility of a switch at quarterback came to be on Monday when head coach Robert Saleh addressed the media and said they will evaluate the team, including the quarterback, and he would not commit to starting Wilson in Week 12.

This was on the heels of Wilson’s disastrous performance in Week 11 against the New England Patriots, going just 9/22 for 77 yards, including leading the offense to just two yards in the second half with five three-and-outs.

No word as of Wednesday morning who will start at quarterback for the Jets against the Bears, whether it will be Mike White or Joe Flacco. Either way, the message has been sent. No player is above the team for Robert Saleh, including one that was drafted No. 2 overall less than two years ago.
