Cards Place 12 on All-ACC Team; Abdullah Earns First Team Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville football team saw 12 of its players claim All-Atlantic Coast Conference status as announced Tuesday by the conference office.
 
Linebacker Yasir Abdullah headlined the group by earning first-team honors, while offensive linemen Caleb Chandler and Bryan Hudson and wide receiver Tyler Hudson captured second team accolades. Defensive end Yaya Diaby, placekicker James Turner and cornerback Kei’Trel Clark were tabbed on the third team. Running back Tiyon Evans, tight end Marshon Ford, offensive tackle Renato Brown, defensive end Ashton Gillotte, linebacker Momo Sanogo and punter Mark Vassett earned honorable mention.
 
Abdullah was a dominating force on a defense that finished second nationally in the ACC in sacks. The native of Miramar, Fla., was second in the league with 8.0 sacks and seventh in the conference with 13.0 tackles for loss. The senior was second nationally in forced fumbles with four and was second on the team with a pair of interceptions.
 
Chandler and Hudson started all 12 games on the offensive line as the Cardinals rushed for 193.4 yards per game. A preseason All-ACC selection, Chandler holds the school record with his 52 career starts. Hudson played a team high 852 snaps and earned the top grade at 92 percent.
