Zack Taylor is in the transfer portal

Rutgers football offers Vincent Carroll-Jackson.

Zack Taylor entered the transfer portal on Monday as the Rutgers football long-snapper now is looking for a new landing spot.

The sophomore offensive lineman was ranked as one of the best long-snappers in the nation coming out of Parsippany Hills High School (Parsippany, N.J.). A member of the class of 2021, Taylor saw his first college action this fall in a win over Wagner.

Taylor has three years of eligibility left.

Coming out of high school at Parsippany Hills, Taylor was ranked a 4.5-star recruit according to Rubio Snapping. That grade projected Taylor as a “Definite FCS Freshman Year Starter, Possible FBS Freshman Year Starter, Scholarship Pick or FBS PWO.”

He posted his decision to enter the transfer portal in a brief message on Tuesday afternoon:

He is the younger brother of former Rutgers long-snapper Billy Taylor, who was in camp with the New York Jets this summer following a strong career with the Scarlet Knights.

As a senior at Rutgers, the elder Taylor was a First-Team All-Big Ten selection (Phil Steele) in addition to being named to the 2021 Mannelly Award Watch List as the nation’s top long snapper.
