Conner Weigman named ON3 Freshman All-American

2024 Quarterback DJ Lagway set to commit on Wednesday, December 7th

It was easy to see when Conner Weigman stepped onto the field for the Aggies for the first time against South Carolina, after prior starters Max Johnson and Haynes King had each suffered injuries, that the young freshman signal caller had a chance to be special.

He walked onto the field on 2nd and long and completed two straight passes, and the ball just looked different coming out of his hand than the other Aggie passers. The Aggies lost to the Gamecocks despite a fierce 4th quarter comeback effort led by Weigman, but the 12th man perked up at the idea of potentially seeing the future of the quarterback position for their team.

Those good feelings continued the next week when Weigman got his first start against Ole Miss, and promptly threw for 330 yards and 4 touchdowns in a 31-28 loss to the Rebels.

After missing the Florida game with an illness, Weigman won two of his next three starts and closed out the season with a massive win over then #5 ranked LSU.

His performance was recognized this week when Weigman was honored by On3 sports as a member of their Freshman All-American team.
