BOULDER—The Colorado Buffaloes finished strong on the first day of the early signing period Wednesday, and at the end of the day added 24 new Buffaloes to the roster. Included in the 24 are 14 high school signees, two junior college players and eight transfers.
New Buffs include the top ranked player from the portal (CB/WR Travis Hunter) and another top 25 portal prospect (QB Shedeur Sanders), a top 20 junior college player (OT Isaiah Jatta) and two four-star athletes from high school in RB Dylan Edwards and WR Adam Hopkins.
Hunter is the top-ranked prospect in the transfer portal and was the top-ranked high school signee a year ago. He is the highest ranked player CU has ever signed or have transfer into the program. Sanders was ranked the No. 21 prospect from the portal after two outstanding seasons at Jackson State. Both Hunter and Sanders followed Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders to Boulder along with Tyler Brown, who also signed later in the day.
Jatta is the No. 19 Juco player in the class and joins the Buffs from Snow College in Utah. Edwards, from Derby, Kan., is ranked as a top 200 player and the No. 11 running back in the nation. Hopkins was a late addition to the Buffs class and is a top 250 prospect and the No. 35 receiver nationally.
