This one is easy. Nick Oliveira has all the makings of becoming the type of player that fans will fall in love with. The offensive lineman from Clearview Regional School (Mullica Hill, N.J.) is a three-star recruit and a top 10 player in the state according to On3.
But, it is his unabashed love for Rutgers that will endear him to the fans. If he plays half as well as he is devoted to this program, then Rutgers has certainly found itself a winner on and off the field.
The kid simply loves Rutgers. It is plastered all over his social media and peppered into every interview.
Last year, it was Rachad Rochelle, the athlete from Illinois, who quickly became the fan’s fan for his over-the-top love of all things Rutgers. Oliveira, despite committing to Rutgers just a few weeks ago, is off to a strong start in this regard.
He has been active on Twitter in trying to recruit other players to join the 2023 recruiting class. In addition, his interviews show a clear love for the program.
This was an offer he wanted and craved, he said in a recent interview with Rutgers Wire. That is the type of enthusiasm that will surely make friends among the fanbase in a major way.
