The Texans held Derrick Henry to 126 yards, which sounds ridiculous prima facie, but the two-time NFL rushing champion had posted four consecutive games of 200 rushing yards or more, which naturally resulted in four wins for the Titans. Slowing Henry was key to putting the game on Willis’ shoulders.
Houston also got a takeaway, too, and in a demoralizing fashion as it came from linebacker Jake Hansen stripping Henry and defensive end Jonathan Greenard recovering. Stripping a rookie quarterback is one thing; stripping Henry is quite another.
Houston also had an edge defender make his presence felt in the Titans’ backfield as defensive end Ogbonnia Okoronkwo had five combined tackles, 2.0 sacks, three tackles for loss, and two quarterback hits.
The two quarterback system wasn’t flashy, but it was safe and protected the football — or, at least Mills got lucky. He threw an interception, but he also had two fumbles, but the Texans managed to fall on both of them.
