COLLEGE PARK, MD — Each week during the 2022-23 season a Maryland student-athlete, who has shown excellence on and off the playing field, will be selected as the Solomon Eye Physicians & Surgeons Terp of the Week.
This week’s Solomon Eye Physicians & Surgeons Terp of the Week is freshman Octavian Smith Jr. of football.
In the Terps’ 16-12 win to capture the Duke’s Mayo Bowl Championship, Octavian Smith Jr., scored Maryland’s lone touchdown on an impressive 19-yard reception in the second quarter. Smith had three catches for 34 yards with that touchdown. He also keyed several scoring drives with his kickoff returns. Totaled 73 kickoff return yards on three returns with a long of 41 yards.
