Another Iowa quarterback has entered their name into the transfer portal. Joining Alex Padilla, freshman quarterback Carson May has now entered his name into the transfer portal. The Oklahoma native did not play a snap this year as a true freshman, sitting as Iowa’s fourth quarterback on the depth chart.
With Joey Labas starting in Iowa’s 21-0 rout of Kentucky in the Music City Bowl, presumptively showing enough to warrant sticking around as incoming Michigan transfer Cade McNamara’s backup, this is a move that most saw coming. Carson May was a three-star signee per 247Sports coming out of Jones, Okla., and definitely has potential in the right situation.
