#FromStateToSundays: Week 18 Update - Mississippi State

STARKVILLE – Chris Jones ended the NFL’s regular season with a bang by racking up 2.5 sacks in Kansas City’s win over Las Vegas.

Jones’ sack total brought his season tally to 15.5, matching his career-high set in 2018, and ties him for fourth in the league this year. The four-time Pro Bowler now has 65 sacks across his seven-year career.

According to Pro Football Focus (PFF), the former Mississippi State defensive line standout is currently tied for second in the NFL with a 92 overall defensive grade and his 92.2 pass rush grade ranks third across the league.

Jones, however, wasn’t the only former Bulldog defender to reach the quarterback during Week 18. New Orleans Saints safety J.T. Gray also recorded a sack to bring his season total to 2.5.

Logan Cooke continued his stellar season punting for the playoff-bound Jacksonville Jaguars. Cooke pinned all four of his punts inside the red zone against the Tennessee Titans this past Saturday for an average of 51 yards per punt. His 43.3 career net punting average is the best in NFL history.

Rookie Charles Cross and Elgton Jenkins continued to contribute yeoman’s work in the trenches. Cross and Jenkins played every offensive snap for the Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers, respectively.

Dak Prescott connected on a 15-yard touchdown pass to pass Troy Aikman for the most TD throws in Dallas Cowboys history and now has 166 for his career.

For the second straight week, the Arizona Cardinals elevated Hunter Bradley from their practice squad and utilized him as a long snapper against the San Francisco 49ers.
