Texas A&M saw its fair share of attrition through the transfer portal, specifically at the linebacker postion last December. However, the Aggies did add three players at the position through the recruiting and transfer portal additions to lighten the impact next season. Looking towards the future, securing commitments from linebacker talent in the 2024 class is a must.
Last weekend, 2024 4-Star outside linebacker Justin Williams announced his final school list as he begins to narrow down his program choices ahead of the 2023 season, as six schools including Oregon, USC, Auburn, TCU, Texas, and Texas A&M made the cut.

Williams, who attends Oak Ridge High School in Conroe, Texas, stands at 6′ 2″, 205lbs and is ranked as the 5th linebacker and 8th player in Texas according to 247Sports. During his junior season, Williams accounted for 95 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, and 8.5 sacks, and was recently invited to next year’s Under Armour All-American game.
After losing 5-Star linebacker Anthony Hill to the Texas Longhorns last November, securing Williams’s commitment could end what has been an ugly recruiting streak for top talent at the position in a number of years.
